click on the butterfly for a brief video introduction about me

I have been writing my entire life, and I can remember staying up all hours to get the words out, and then to perfect them as much as I could. I enjoyed early successes, such as high school poetry contests, and in college, majoring in English and Creative Writing and exploring short stories. My first big publication of my story “Where Did Our Love Go?” in Redbook, was one of the great thrills of my life. In addition to writing, I have enjoyed 20 years’ experience in association communications. I still stay up all hours trying to get the right words out, but it’s not so much about perfection, it’s a more zen feeling that I am creating a world that maybe I didn’t even know was there until I sat down to write it down. That is what is magical about writing for me. My favorite authors: Margaret Atwood, Anne Tyler, John Updike, John Cheever, Sue Miller, and Perri Klass. To all aspiring writers out there…never give up!
